Hector’s Dolphins

Hectors Dolphins are one of the smallest dolphins in the world, an adult male grows to about 1.5m in length. They are only found in New Zealand

The Mauis Dolphin is a subspecies of the Hector’s Dolphins. Sadly they are one of the most endangered marine mammals in the world with less than 100 individuals left.

The biggest threat to the Hectors dolphins are humans and in particular gillnets.
